Residents of Albrighton and the surrounding parishes are being invited to have their say about issues important to them, at the area’s annual “Let’s Talk” meeting on Thursday 11 September.
The meeting is being held at The Red House, Albrighton starting at 7.00pm, and all local people are invited to attend. At the meeting, local councillors from Shropshire County Council, Bridgnorth District Council and local parish councils will listen to comments and concerns raised by local people, and answer their questions. People will be able to raise any issue during a question and answer session, and topics including the future of the Defence College of Aeronautical Engineering, Cosford, the flood alleviation scheme, and leisure facilities are expected to be discussed.
Malcolm Pate, Shropshire County Councillor for Albrighton, said: “We hope as many local people as possible will join us at this year’s meeting to talk to us about the issues and subjects that matter to them. More than 50 people attended last year’s meeting, and we hope even more will join us this time to tell us what is on their minds. “
David Beechey, Bridgnorth District Councillor for Donington and Albrighton North, said: “We are delighted to give the people of Albrighton and the surrounding parishes another opportunity to talk to their local councillors about what matters to them, and about how they think life in the area could be improved or enhanced.”
The meeting will begin with a brief report on what has been done over the past 12 months in response to issues raised last year. And everyone attending will be given feedback afterwards, telling them what the councils have done as a result of the meeting.
This is one of a series of 19 “Let’s Talk” meetings being held across Shropshire before the end of October. Entry to each meeting is free, and refreshments will be provided. |
